short-leases-under-80-years If you own the freehold of a block of flats where the leases have an unexpired term of under 80 years you ill be aware that at some point in the future you are likely to charge the leaseholders for a lease extension. Financially this can be rewarding but you may only get a small number of leaseholders extending their leases over a given period time. We specialise in buying blocks of flats where the leases would need extending but we pay the freeholder the full value of a lease extension for the whole block.

This means that rather than wait for all of the leases to be extended over say a 20 year period you could have all of the money at once. We have a good sized portfolio of freehold ground rents with leases that are under 8o years. We buy these properties with a long term view and look to extend the leases as and when they come up for renewal.
